February 7, 2011
After a couple slow days due to the
weather, the rockfish came back with a
bang. Fishing action was best
right here close by in the Cape Henry
area with most every boat limiting out
and back at the docks by 10am! These
were big fish in the 30# to 40# range.
When you get tired of catching rockfish,
keep in mind that only three to four
miles off the beach the bluefin tuna
action is hotter then ever. It's not too late to schedule a trip and
get in on the action! |

February 4, 2011
The weather was a
bit rough on Friday but one private boat
made it out and was rewarded with a 69
pound striped bass. The next day on
Saturday, Feb. 4 the weather was
outstanding with bright sun and little
wind so nearly everyone was fishing.
Many boats did well on rockfish and many
other boats scored well on bluefin tuna.
The bite is still on so it's not too
late to schedule a trip and get in on
the action! |

Last week we had a
pretty hard blow for several days that
shut down the fishing entirely.. Today
was an entirely different story.. The
rockfish were just setting there waiting
for someone to come out and claim them.
We did and we had our catch by
10am! There were also bluefin tuna
caught by another boat. |

The fishing at Virginia Beach continues
to be the best on record. There are
plenty of citation rockfish being caught
daily and near record size fish are
being caught often right now. If that
isn't enough excitement there have been
reports of miles and miles of bluefin
tuna inside the 3 mile mark. If you want
to stock up that freezer with some of
the best tasting fish in the world you
need to be here asap.
Last Friday Instigator Team One cashed
in for $7500 in the Mid Atlantic
Rockfish Shootout with the three largest
fish weighing 122.4 pounds. Just to give
you an idea of how many big fish are
being caught, the top 15 places were
separated by only a couple of pounds.
That's a lot of big rockfish!
Also we are proud to announce that
this weekends winnings have put the
Instigator over $2,000,000 in customer
winnings while chartering us in a
tournament!!! |

January 5, 2011
As the boats are getting geared up in
the Virginia Beach Rock Fishing Shootout
the fishing is peaking. Although we were
not entered today, we had a catch that
would have been in first place! Also 23
different rockfishing tournament boats
reported being spooled by giant bluefin
tuna including this giant in the
picture. We are geared up to fish for
both and encourage anglers not to miss
out on some of the most spectacular
fishing at Virginia Beach in years. |

November
27, 2011
The water temperatures have delayed
the rockfishing slightly but this can be a good
thing. Based on other fishing reports we
estimate that spectacular rockfishing will be
better than ever in the next few days as the
water cools with the approaching cold front. If
you want to catch some real trophy rockfish
please make your plans to get to Va Beach ASAP. |
